Biography

   Mr. Gaurdie E. Banister, Jr., serves as the President of Shell Information Technology International, Inc. Mr. Banister served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Aera Energy LLC since 2007. He served as Vice President of Technical, Shell EP Asia Pacific, which is part of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group’s global exploration and production business. He served as the President of Shell Services International, Inc. He joined Shell in 1980 as an Offshore Facilities Engineer and also has experience in information technology operations, mergers and acquisitions, strategy and technology. He has 35 years of oil and gas experience and prior to Aera served in executive level positions at Shell including Technical Vice President of Upstream Asia Pacific from 2005 to 2007 and Technical Vice President of Upstream Americas since 2003 and championed innovative capital cost approaches to major projects. He became the President USA and Executive Vice President of Shell Services EP Gas and Power in 1998. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Banister served as Vice President of Business Development and Technology. He has been a Director of Bristow Group Inc., since October 01, 2017. He has been an Independent Director of Tyson Foods, Inc. since November 2011 and also serves as its Lead Independent Director. He has been Independent Director of Marathon Oil Corporation since October 1, 2015. He also serves as Trustee of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology foundation. He served on the Executive Committee of the California Chamber of Commerce, the advisory board of the Chancellor of the California State University System and the board of the Western States Petroleum Association and served as the Chairman of the Board of the United Way of Kern County. Mr. Banister holds a Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He holds Honorary Doctorate from Fort Valley State University.
