Previously, he worked as an international business adviser for the Riyadh Technology Valley in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Shope has also served as vice president and officer for the Research Triangle Park Foundation, which owns and operates the internationally recognized Research Triangle Park. In addition, he directed international business development at the North Carolina Department of Commerce, intricately involved with two North Carolina governors. Mr. Shope served as principal of Schottenstein, Zox, & Dunn, a law firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. He earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and attended a one-year program at Yale University after graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
