Dr. Janes recently retired from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she served as a senior health scientist in the Office of the Associate Director of Policy, has worked broadly in the area of public health and health outcomes, and is a specialist in health data policy and evidence-based processes. She completed her doctoral studies at Georgetown University in cell biology and received an MS in biostatistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While at CDC, she worked closely with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and its impact on public health programs and community-based services.
