Dr. Flemming Besenbacher, D.Sc., h.c. mult., FRSC. has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Carlsberg A/S since March 2012 and has been its Member of Supervisory Board since 2005. Dr. Besenbacher has extensive experience of managing large knowledge based organisations and has strong competences relating to innovation, research, CSR and sustainable development. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Carlsberg Laboratory and of Board of Carlsberg. He has been Chairman at the Carlsberg Foundation since January 2012. He has been Deputy Chairman of Supervisory Board at Carlsberg Breweries A/S since April 28, 2017. He served as the Chairman of Supervisory Board at Carlsberg Breweries A/S from March 2012. He served as Deputy Chairman of Supervisory Board at Carlsberg Breweries A/S since March 30, 2012 & has been its Member of Supervisory Board since 2005. Dr. Besenbacher serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Carlsberg Foundation and of the supervisory boards of property companies affiliated to the Carlsberg Foundation. He is a Member of the Boards of the Tuborg Foundation and MedTech Innovation Center. He serves as a Director at Unisense A/S. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Innovation Fund Denmark since April 1, 2014. He served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at STYLEPIT A/S (alternative name SmartGuy Group A/S) and served as its Member of the Advisory Board. He was a Director of the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Aarhus University from 2002 to 2012. He holds a professorship at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University. He is Professor Honoris Causa at 10 international universities and a recipient of the prestigious “Friendship Award” and “The Chinese Government Highest International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Award” of the People’s Republic of China. Dr. Besenbacher has received a large number of international awards.
