Dr. Edgardo A. Faylona is an Independent Director of the Company. He graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, followed by an internship at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. After internship, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, then did his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Indiana University in Indianapolis. It was at Indiana University that Dr. Faylona was mentored by the world renowned oncologists Dr. Lawrence Einhorn and Dr. George Sledge with whom he continues to have a close relationship with. In 1997, Dr. Faylona co-founded Cancer and Blood Specialists of Nevada which became the biggest locally owned Hematology-Oncology practice in the state. He is licensed to practice medicine in Nevada, Arizona, California and Philippines. Dr. Faylona is the lead author of a study published at the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the most prestigious Oncology journal in the world, and has won several awards and accolades including graduating class valedictorian in grade school and high school at the Ateneo de San Pablo, and graduating cum laude from the University of the Philippines. He was also inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society, Phi Sigma International Honor Society for the Biological Sciences and Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society for the Social Sciences.
