Biography

professor of microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics at UCLA and the director of the Electron Imaging Center for Nanomachines of the California NanoSystems Institute in Los Angeles, California. Research Intrest

He is interested in understanding pathogenicity, latency and reactivation of viruses in their host to produce vaccine. He is also interested in how bacterial cells respond to the environment by altering which protein they synthesize and in how bacteria detect and respond to stressful conditions.
