Biography

 Stefan Blarer was a founder and business angel investor in QualySense, and served on the Board of Directors since its formation in 2010. He has more than 30 years’ experience working in the Life Science industry, in particular Agribusiness Research and Business Development. He has broad international experience in innovation and general management, strategy and business development both in a corporate as well as an SME setting. From 1995 to 2007 he was a member of the Novartis corporate Research Advisory Board and the Syngenta R&D leadership team. Responsible for R&D technology globally, including analytical, research computing and laboratory automation, he led his section successfully through several mergers and reorganisations. In 2007 Stefan founded Drimarch in Basel, a consultancy for Life Science and innovation management, where he acts as Managing Director. Drimarch consults European SMEs and start-up companies on innovation and growth and can act as business angel. Three partners of Drimarch including Stefan work closely with the Swiss Federal Innovation Agency CTI as CTI start-up coaches. Stefan Blarer earned an MSc and PhD in Chemistry and Natural Sciences from the ETH in Zürich. Postdoctoral studies in natural chemistry at ANU in Canberra and Zoecon in Palo Alto CA as well as certifications in business organization and teaching add to his curricula. He was born in 1954 and is a Swiss citizen.
