My dream to become a physician began at a young age and was inspired by my mother, who was a nurse. I grew up watching her care for people and became close friends with the physician she worked for and cannot remember ever wanting to do anything different with my life. As a board-certified Gastroenterologist in the San Antonio TX area, my staff and I will provide the highest quality care for you and your family. Excellent medical care not only involves prompt and compassionate service, but also active and ongoing patient education throughout the evaluation and treatment process. I find that patient satisfaction is highest when they are able to effectively participate in their health care decisions. I went to medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After medical school, I decided to specialize in gastroenterology and started this process by enrolling in the Internal Medicine residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After my residency program, I then started a fellowship at UT Health SA in Gastroenterology. After completing the fellowship program, I went into private practice. In addition, I am an assistant professor in gastroenterology at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, which allows me the opportunity to stay current with new research.
I keep fresh information on my web site and frequently add new blogs about topics relevant to gastroenterology. I take pride in keeping my patients as involved in the patient care and as up to date on their results as I can. It's a patient/ physician team approach.
