Dr. Denese Montano has been a physical therapist for 26 years. In 1992 she received her BHs and MPT then in 1998 she received her D.Sc. from Loma Linda University. During her doctoral study she completed research on Low Back Pain and Treatment Classification for which she received the student research award for excellence in student research. In 1999 she received her Geriatric Certified Specialist designation from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty and in 2010 she completed her Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adult’s. Dr. Montano is a dedicated and patient-focused physical therapist with proven strengths in Regional Management, Staff Development, Rehab Team Management¸ Educational Development, Acute Rehabilitation, Inpatient Geriatric Rehabilitation and Outpatient Geriatric Rehabilitation. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University in the master’s of physical therapy program and at Loma Linda University in the advance doctorate of physical therapy program. In addition, she has been a guest speaker at medical conference’s and an expert witness. She is currently the regional director of Rehab Alliance for therapy services for the Inland Counties District and the greater Los Angeles area and is serving as the chairperson for the inland counties district of the California physical therapy association. In her free time she trains in traditional Shito-ryu karate-do , Genbu-kai and is ranked as a second degree black belt in karate and in kubudo (okinowian weaponry).
