Dr. Bernstein is the medical director of Eastside Endoscopy, LLC. He also serves as the Director of Endoscopy in the Division of Digestive Diseases and the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York, NY. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  From 2007-2012, Dr. Bernstein was selected for inclusion as a “Castle Connolly Top Doctor” and in 2008 appeared in New York Magazine as a Regional Top Doctor in New York City.  Dr. Bernstein is a leader in endoscopy quality initiatives and serves as the chief quality officer for Beth Israel ambulatory endoscopy services.

 Dr. Bernstein has over 20 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology and  is dedicated to educating the public about one of the most fatal cancers affecting  Americans today – colon cancer. Patients diagnosed with colon cancer can increase their survival prognosis by as much as 90% with early screening and detection. Dr. Bernstein personally performs over 1500 endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy annually, and is director of the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Endoscopy Department where over 11,000 procedures are performed annually. His is published and well respected as a leading medical expert in the field of Gastroenterology.
