Dr. Bernd Montag has been the Chief Executive Officer of Healthcare Business at Siemens AG since January 2015. Dr. Montag serves as Chief Executive Officer at Siemens Healthineers, Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Imaging & IT Division at Siemens AG until January 2015. Dr. Montag served as the President of Computed Tomography (CT) Division for Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., since 2004. Dr. Montag assumed full responsibility for the worldwide business of Siemens.Before holding executive positions, he established an understanding of company processes contributing to his success. From 1995 to 1999, he served an in-house consulting position in process management at Siemens and served as Sales Manager for Siemens Hearing Instruments. He was a Member of the German Basketball Junior National Team and played semi-professionally until 1999. Even though his basketball playing career has ended, he is heavily engaged in sports. He completed his Doctoral and undergraduate work at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

  Citing strong leadership, an emphasis on customer orientation and a global presence, Dr. Montag is confident in both his role with Siemens and the role of technology in healthcare. In 1999, he joined Imaging & IT Division at Siemens as Senior Product Manager for the first generations of multislice CT and served in that position until 2001 when he transferred to the Magnetic Resonance (MR) division. As Vice President of MR Marketing and Sales at Siemens, he was responsible for the worldwide launch of the revolutionary Tim™ (Total imaging matrix) technology with the MAGNETOM Avanto and for the worldwide launch of the MAGNETOM Espree™.
