Biography

Dr. Ales Prokop, is a professor in Vanderbilt University. He got his MS (1961) from the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague, PhD (1966) from the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and his DrSc (1993) from the Czech Academy of Sciences. He worked in biotechnology, between two boundaries: engineering and biology, most recently medical sciences. Dr. Ales Prokop, is a professor in Vanderbilt University. Research Intrest

He is interested in understanding pathogenicity, latency and reactivation of viruses in their host to produce vaccine. He is also interested in how bacterial cells respond to the environment by altering which protein they synthesize and in how bacteria detect and respond to stressful conditions.
