Education Dr. Dominik von Achten studied law and economics at the Universities of Freiburg and Munich. Following the Second State Exam, he worked at the Munich Higher Regional Court and the Traunstein Regional Court. In 1996, he earned a Phd in Economic Policy. Career From 1996 to September 2007, Dr. Dominik von Achten worked for The Boston Consulting Group. During this time, he held various management roles, including two abroad – in New York and Helsinki. In his capacity as Responsible Partner & Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group, he headed the successful implementation of the “win” project at HeidelbergCement. Dr. von Achten has been appointed Member of the Managing Board as of 1 October 2007 and was in charge of the United Kingdom and Hanson integration until the end of 2008. From 1 January 2009 until 31 March 2016, he was in charge of the North America Group area. Effective 1 February 2015, Dr. von Achten has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board. Since 1 April 2016, he has been in charge of the Western and Southern Europe Group area and the worldwide coordination of the Competence Center Materials. Additionally, he has been in charge of Industry 4.0/Digital Transformation HeidelbergCement since 1 January 2017.
