Biography

 Daurio joined GE in 2011 and is presently responsible for GE Healthcare Latin America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. With more than 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Daurio applies to his role a strong understanding of the local market dynamics to drive the region’s growth, with focus on building solid partnerships and achieving customer satisfaction. Prior to his current position, Daurio was the Commercial Vice President for Latin America, being responsible for driving driving the implementation of improvements needed around Commercial Excellence, a key pillar of the region’s sustainable growth strategy. He has also been consolidating the regional focus on research and development while being responsible for building a solid partnership with one of the most important education institutions in Brazil.  Besides focusing on the organic growth of the region, Daurio has played a key role in the recent acquisitions of XPRO and Omnimed in Brazil. His previous role in GE Healthcare also includes the position of Vice-President and General Manager for Healthcare Systems, in which he used his extensive healthcare experience to expand the organizational and people capabilities to support the ambitious growth plans of the region. Daurio joined GE from Philips Medical Systems where he served as Senior Vice President of Latin America.  In that position he significantly grew the presence of Philips in the region through both organic and inorganic initiatives and led a number of acquisitions in the region.   Prior to Philips he held positions as Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Vice President, Latin America Operations for Guerbet Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of contrast agents. Before his tenure in the medical industry, Daurio led operations in the South American Mercosur countries for AkzoNobel, and also held positions as Business Manager and Production Manager for DuPont South America and Saint-Gobain S.A. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from FEI Brazil, an MBA from Universidade Mackenzie, Brazil and also has a master’s degree in Business Management from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
