Altice has announced that Cláudia Goya has taken over as Portugal Telecom’s CEO, with immediate effect, and is responsible for Altice’s telecommunications business in Portugal. Paulo Neves will be chairman of the group in Portugal and, following the acquisition of Media Capital, will also assume the coordination of the Group's Portuguese assets. The new governance model will allow Altice to strengthen its leading position in Portugal. With more than 20 years of experience in Business and Business Management, Cláudia Goya has held leadership positions in different industries - Information Technologies, Energy, Telecommunications and Retail - in various countries and economic contexts. Throughout her academic life, Cláudia Goya has lived and studied in Europe and the USA, where she graduated from Los Altos High School in California. She graduated in Physical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and started her professional career at Procter & Gamble, where she managed global consumer brands for seven years, namely in the Haircare business unit, which set her up for an international career. At Galp Energia, she was responsible for the retail business, leading Galp stations throughout the country, as well as its commercial development in the Iberian market. After having embraced the Microsoft Marketing and Operations Division Portugal in 2009, she became the first woman to head the Portuguese subsidiary of the company, starting the technological move to cloud. After three years, she became COO of Microsoft Brazil, which in 2014 was awarded Top Subsidiary of the Year.
