Claudio obtained his master degree in 2010 at the Department of Biology, ETH Zurich. His master thesis was about the progeny of L. monocytogenes L-forms and revealed first hints about an alternative pathway of reproduction. At the Institute of Medical Microbiology, University of Zurich, he was employed as a research assistant, contributing to diagnostic research. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing development, training of laboratory staff as well as the validation of commercial kits and novel techniques were part of his duty.
