Dr. Claudio F. Abreu has been Chief Executive Officer and President of Bayer Business and Technology Services of Bayer Corporation since October 2008. Dr. Abreu serves as Global Head of Information Technology Operations and Head of Bayer Business Services in North America at Bayer Corporation. Dr. Abreu served as Chief Information Officer of Bayer Corporate and Business Services LLC of Bayer Corporation and was responsible for all Information Systems services and governance in support of Bayer businesses. Dr. Abreu joined Bayer Corporation in 1990 and served positions of increasing responsibility in several areas of Information Systems. He served several senior managerial positions, including Director of Corporate Systems Development and Coordination in the Technology Division, Director of Applications Development and Account Management, Director of Data Center and Technical Services, Director of North America Competency Center, and Vice President of NAFTA IS Technology and Operations Since 1995. In 1999, Dr. Abreu established the North America Competency Center as the first new regional IS organization concept implemented in North America. He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Business Leadership Network and the Pittsburgh Disability Project For Freedom. He also serves a Member of The Boards of Advisors for Cisco Services and the IBM/Tivoli Software Board, and serves on the Verizon Wireless Technology Board.
