During her time at Selcia Carol has successfully managed biology and ADME support for many key client drug discovery projects. Her main areas of therapeutic interest and experience include endocrinology, cancer, anti-infectives, tropical disease and inflammation. Prior to joining Selcia, Carol set up and headed the Cell Culture and Molecular Biology Laboratory at the James Black Foundation. Her involvement in drug discovery programmes based on GPCR targets led to a number of ligands entering Phase 1 clinical trials. Carol has a BSc in biochemistry from the University of Bath and PhD in biochemistry from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (now Imperial College School of Medicine). She also gained post doctoral research experience in cell biology at the ICRF, London (now Cancer Research UK). During her time in academia she was the recipient of a Wellcome Prize studentship and Imperial Cancer Research Fund postdoctoral research fellowship.
