Butcher-Alan joined Purdue in April 2015. He is a highly experienced pharmaceutical executive who has completed multiple high-value transactions throughout his career. Mr. Butcher has been responsible for developing business strategy; product candidate and delivery technology development; P&L management; and managing the valuation, negotiation, and execution of licensing deals and company acquisitions. Mr. Butcher previously was Vice President of Business Development at Shire Pharmaceuticals; Vice President and General Manager of Implant Drug Delivery and Vice President of Business and Corporate Development for Endo Pharmaceuticals; Director of Worldwide Business Development Transactions at GlaxoSmithKline; and several positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb in business development and scientific research. Mr. Butcher holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Microbiology and a Master’s of Arts in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biology and Genetics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
