Barbara kukomska working as the Head of the Neurorepair Department at Mossakowski Medical Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1978, PhD in 1990 and was nominated Professor of Medicine in 2005. She was a member of the medical team which performed the first transplantation trial of autologous cord blood stem cells in Poland.
Barbara Kukomska has broad interest in the human mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow and cell microvesicles in term of their isolation, identification, expansion, genetic modifications and therapeutic transplantation in animal models of brain ischemia.
