Biography

Baker D Stuart has served as Counsel to the Board of Directors since 2003. He joined Purdue in 1994 as International General Counsel while remaining a partner at Chadbourne & Parke LLP, and was named Executive Vice President in 1999. Mr. Baker chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors and provides legal expertise and direction to the Board of Directors for all matters related to tax planning, investments, financing transactions, strategic alliances, corporate partnering, international law, company structures, corporate governance, licensing transactions, and other areas. In addition, he provides legal advice to Purdue Pharma L.P. and the U.S. independent associated companies, and has responsibility for internal audit functions in the U.S. and the rest of the world. Mr. Baker also has responsibility as international general counsel serving the independent associated companies outside the U.S. He also serves as a corporate officer and a director for numerous independent associated companies around the world. Mr. Baker earned his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and his law degree from Columbia University. He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut as well as in Federal Courts.
