Biography

Ashley McEvoy is Company Group Chairman for Johnson & Johnson Vision and Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care Companies, and a member of the Management Committee. In her role, she leads two medically directed, consumer-informed businesses within the company’s global medical device segment. The companies, best known for their market-leading ACUVUE® Brand Contact lenses, TECNIS® Family of Intraocular Lenses and ONETOUCH® Diabetes Devices, post annual sales of nearly $6 billion and are fully-integrated operating companies encompassing strategy, innovation, prototyping, clinical trials, sales, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, and business development and, employ more than 12,000 associates around the world. Ashley’s varied career that spans more than 20 years at J&J has given her a combination of health care, medical device and brand building savvy that make her particularly suited to size up and respond to the challenges inherent in running these hybrid businesses. In four years under Ashley’s leadership, the contact lens platform added $1B in cume sales, an increase of 11% and returned to above-market performance. The Diabetes Care team outperformed competitive composites in 2015 and is growing market share. Ashley has run four multibillion dollar companies and given birth to five healthy children, demonstrating that you can have a full personal life while rocketing to the top of a Fortune 50 company. As Worldwide President, Ethicon, Inc., she brought dynamic energy to a 100-year-old, $2.5 billion surgical suture business, accelerating sales and doubling net income in 3 years. She also strengthened the company’s capabilities, improving the five-year value of the Company’s new product pipeline by 26 percent. Earlier, Ashley served as President of McNeil Consumer Healthcare where she transformed the company by overseeing the acquisition and integration of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (the largest acquisition in the history of Johnson & Johnson at that time). During her tenure, McNeil delivered record double-digit sales and income growth, and held leading market share in every product category in which they competed. Ashley is committed to diversity and inclusion and she has assembled high performing teams, changing the composition of her own leadership team from 10% diverse to 50% diverse. She serves as the executive sponsor of the Open & Out employee resource group which supports the LGBT community globally. Under her leadership, this group has advanced Johnson & Johnson’s goal having its workforce reflect the populations it serves, and created educational materials to improve understanding and create safe, inclusive work environments, and earning accolades from multiple external organizations. Ashley’s accomplishments have been recognized by numerous business and philanthropic organizations and she was named a “2012 Working Mother of the Year” by Working Mother Magazine. She is an active member of her community, serving as a board member for the CEO Council for Growth, an organization focused on economic growth for the tri-state region and very involved in Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce activities.
