Arūnas Žilinskas graduated from Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Medicine in 1990. He completed his general surgery residency at VU in 1994 and his thoracic surgery residency in 1997. He has been working as a thoracic surgeon at the Center of Thoracic Disease Vilnius of University Hospital Santaros Klinikos since 1994. In 2013, he began working at the Department of Interventional Pulmonology and Respiratory Function Diagnostics of Center of Pulmonology and Allergology as well.
Arūnas Žilinskas work consists primarily of investigating and treating esophageal diseases and performing bronchological tests. He is a member of the Lithuanian Thoracic and Cardiac Surgeons' Society and the Scandinavian Thoracic Surgeons' Society. He has trained at the Oslo Royal hospital's cardo-thoracic division (Norway) and has taken post-graduate courses in Prague (Czech Republic).
