Ann Marie, works as an International Medical Director (IMD) within the diabetes area in the Global Development unit at Novo Nordisk R&D. In general, her role encompasses planning the strategic development of clinical trials, being medically responsible during the conduct and reporting of the trial and also supporting regulatory interactions with health authorities. Her role also provides an opportunity to interact with external experts in the field of diabetes to discuss current issues that impact their trial conduct and interpretation of data. It’s invigorating to work with such amazing colleagues and in an environment with a global mind set. The tremendous commitment and dedication of  her colleagues have for her work is truly inspiring. She moved to Denmark to pursue a great career opportunity by joining the Global Development unit. There was a need for expertise in the development of Paediatric Investigational Plans for two new insulin products and this fit perfectly with my background in paediatric endocrinology. Knowing that Novo Nordisk is a world leader in diabetes and growth hormone therapy also played a key part in her decision to accept the position as IMD and re-locate to Denmark from the US.
