Alvaro Araujo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Latin America Transaction Advisory Group in Miami. He is a seasoned transaction advisor with extensive experience advising private equity and corporate acquirers on transactions throughout Latin America. Mr. Araujo specializes in leading financial accounting due diligence on behalf of private equity and corporate acquirers. He has worked in more than a dozen countries across various industries. Mr. Araujo has led numerous cross-border and cross-functional teams and is experienced with transaction risks and business practices throughout Latin America. Prior to A&M, Mr. Araujo was the lead Transaction Support partner in EY Peru responsible for developing the team in-country. His professional experience includes over 10 years with Ernst & Young as an auditor and member of the Transaction Advisory Services group in New York and Miami. Following his tenure with EY in the United States, he served as a Chief Restructuring Officer for a manufacturing company in Central America and successfully founded and operated a business process outsourcing entity.Mr. Araujo earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University and a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mr. Araujo's industry expertise includes consumer products, healthcare, education, telecommunications, retail, general manufacturing, and restaurants. He has advised on transactions ranging from less than $1 million to over $7 billion in the United States, Europe and Latin America.
