Biography

Alex graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Science in 1990. He did his graduate work at Princeton University from where he graduated in 1992 with an M.S. in Computer Engineering. Alex worked in the medical device space since 1988 when he was part of the Dupont team developing software for an automated blood analysis system used to screen donated blood at blood banks. Alex went on to start a systems development and regulatory consulting business specializing in medical device manufacturing, clinical development, and compliance. In 2002, after a successful sale of his company, Alex joined Vital Signs (a $250MM public company) where he held CIO and COO positions. After the Vital Signs acquisition by GE Healthcare in 2008, Alex was named the GM and CEO of the $400MM global Vital Signs Devices business at GE. During his tenure at GE, Alex’s P&L received the coveted globe award for the highest revenue growth of a GE Healthcare Systems P&L in 2009 while achieving over 25% pre-tax margin.   Alex joined Visionsense in 2010 with the goal of helping the company enable 3D visualization as the standard of care for minimally invasive surgery.
