Alan co-founded the Tecma Group of Companies, along with a senior mentor in 1986. During his long and distinguished career, Alan has served as president and co-owner of the Reddington Group and Securities, as well as president of Cielo Dorado Development. Additionally, he was a commercial pilot with Continental Airlines for ten years. His experiences as a pilot within Latin America, and sustained commitment to commerce between Mexico and the United States, has made the Tecma Group a national leader among bi-national enterprises. Today, the company employs over 4,000 individuals in 30 facilities throughout the border region of Mexico and the United States.During Alan’s tenure as Tecma’s president, the company has grown significantly and has set new standards in human development. The Tecma Group of Companies has recently received national awards in environmental responsibility and employee cafeteria service quality and standards. The latter are normally reserved only for resort properties. He recently honored with the 2013 District Director’s Achievement Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Alan serves on the Board of Directors of the Borderplex Alliance – a bi-national economic alliance serving El Paso, Cd. Juarez and Las Cruces, N.M.; the TXL Group – a firm that researches ways of turning wasted heat into usable energy and the War Eagles Air Museum – focused on military aviation history. He is a member of the Texas Department of Transportation’s Freight Advisory Committee, a regional member of the Merida II Initiative between the U.S. and Mexico, and actively works on the Model Ports Sub Committees. He is president of the Industrial Development Committee for the Juarez/El Paso area. He is also member of the Southwest Maquila Association; a member of the University of Texas at El Paso 2014 Centennial Commission; a member and major investor in the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Alan is a financial sponsor of C.A.F.E., a college scholarship foundation, and is a major supporter of the U.T.E.P. Athletics Programs. He is past president of the Chamizal Foundation for border health, founder and past president of the International Amigo Airshow, and a founding director of the El Paso Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. In recognition of his leadership in promoting aviation through education, Alan was inducted into the El Paso Aviation Hall of Fame. Originally from Non, Oklahoma, Alan is a graduate of Southern Oklahoma State University. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Aviation. Additionally, he was honored as their 2010 Distinguished Alumni. He remains an active flight instructor and pilots the company’s business aircraft throughout North America.
