Biography

Yuriana Aguilar is currently working as an instructor at Rush medical college. She completed her education in University of California (PhD) and University of California (BS). Currently their research is going on under the guidance of Josefina Ramos-Franco MD, PhD, they use a multidisciplinary approach, from the cellular to the molecular levels, to understand the Ca2+ release mediated by IP3R & RyR channels and its mechanism(s) of local Ca2+ control in cells. If they can understand their function under physiological conditions, then they will be able to gain insights into the role these channels play in heart pathologies associated with altered Ca2+ dynamics.

Research Intrest

Her research area includes calcium signaling, single channel recordings, inositol triphosphate receptor, and ryanodine receptor.
