Ato Yewunetu is currently Academic, Research & Community Services Vice Dean within the College of Medicine & Health Sciences. He is also a Lecturer within the Department of Nursing. He joined the University of Gondar in 2001 as a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing. Since then alongside his academic duties Ato Yewunetu has been undertaking a range of administrative duties including serving as Head of the Faculty Development Unit; Head of the Registrar and Exam Center; Dean of Students at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS); and Manager of the University of Gondar Guest House. Since January 28, 2010 he has also been serving as Founder and Head of Central Skill Development Lab within CMHS. Ato Yewunetu gained a Diploma in Public Health Nursing in 1998 from the University of Gondar. He continued his studies within the University and went to complete his B.Sc. Degree in Nursing in 2007 and his M.Phil. in Reproductive Health in 2010. He has continued with his professional development by undertaking graduate level distance learning courses on “Global Program Management and Leadership” at the University of Washington. Prior to joining the University of Gondar Ato Yewunetu worked within the field of health as Maternal & Child Health Care Unit Coordinator at Arbaya Health Center in Gondar; a Malaria Expert within Belessa Woreda Health Office in Gondar and as Head and Matron of Arbaya Health Center in Gondar.
