Annika is a freshwater ecologist specialising in the impacts of agricultural land use on stream ecosystems. Her research is motivated by providing scientific knowledge that can be applied in the sustainable management of freshwater resources. In particular, she is interested in the way multiple stressors interact to affect biotic communities and ecosystem functioning, and in defining thresholds of harm beyond which ecosystems should not be allowed to move.
