Dr. Vivek Kumar Yadav, working as a Post Doctoral Fellow with Prof. Michael L. Klein at ICMS, Department of Chemistry, Temple University from February 2014. He has completed his Ph. D. under supervision of Prof. Amalendu Chandra at Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in October 2013. He has have also done M. Phil. in theoretical electrochemistry under guidence of Prof. Rama Kant, Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi in 2005. His main area of research is "Computer Simulation of liquids" where he is currently working on dynamical behaviour of aqueous and nonaqueous solutions through ab initio molecular dynamics, such as diffusion, rotation, hydrogen bond fluctuations, vibrational spectral diffusion and vibrational relaxation under normal and supercritical conditions. His current research includes the theoretical investigation of two dimensional van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures that are of considerable interest for next generation nanoelectronics because of their unique interlayer coupling, electrical and optical properties.
The molecular docking and molecular simulation of synthetic drugs and endogenous cannabinoids ligands in the Cannabinoids (CB) receptors is another working topic of his current research. These CB receptors play vital roles in various physiological events like pain transmission, immune and neurodegenerative conditions.
