Biography

Vijay S. Iyer is an interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart interventions. His clinical practice includes general cardiology, interventional cardiology and complex valvular heart diseases. He also collaborate with the Toshiba Stroke Research Center to develop advanced imaging modalities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.Education and Training: Fellowship, Interventional Cardiology, University of Minnesota (2009); Fellowship, Cardiovascular Disease, University at Buffalo (2006); Postdoctoral Fellow, Division of Cardiology, University at Buffalo (2003); PhD, Pharmacology, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA (2001); MD, Internal Medicine, Grant Medical College, Maharashtra University Of Health Sciences (1995). Associate Professor of Medicine, University at Buffalo (2014-present); Director, Structural Heart Interventions (2011-present); Research Assistant Professor, Medicine, University at Buffalo (2006–2014). He spend time with my patients to ensure that they are comfortable with the treatment options they choose and that they have a clear understanding of the alternatives, benefits and risks. He train residents and cardiology fellows through didactic and bedside teaching, and he is a mentor their research projects. He also oversee cardiology fellows in outpatient settings.
