He has been in charge of several current research projects of the Rizzoli Orthopeadic Institute, and has collaborated to two research projects finalized by the National Research Council. He collaborated to 86 current research projects of the Rizzoli Orthopeadic Institute. He is editor of 7 books about muscular-skeletal radiology, and has edited over 170 print publications. Furthermore, he participated to scientific events as teacher (approx. 40), moderator (approx. 20), speaker (approx. 20), co-speaker (approx. 40). He has also been invited to present relations and lectures in over 100 scientific events. In addition, he participated as teacher/auditor to numerous events, both in Italy and abroad, on scientific topics and/or health management.
For many years, he has been committed to interventionist radiology, of which he is refining and widening the diagnostic, and especially therapeutically, applications. In the last years, he is efficaciously applying pulsed radiofrequency to painful pathologies of rachis. He performs numerous procedures of CT-guided interventionist radiology (ago-biopsies, thermo-ablations, vertebral-cement plastics, discographies, symptomatic treatments for discal hernias and rachis arthrosis, treatment of articular bone cyst and eosinophil granulomas). In particular, in the last five years he has performed, as first operator, over 400 ago-biopsies, 250 thermo-ablations, 250 symptomatic treatments for discal hernias, 200 lumbar and cervical facet syndromes, 70 vertebral plastics).
