Biography

Education: B. S. Civil Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, 1994 Professional Experience: I have worked for over 22 years with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and have lead a variety of projects with an emphasis in ground water and surface water hydrology, water quality, microbiology, and statistics as part of my assignments. I began work with the USGS in 1991 as a student trainee in Altamonte Springs, Florida and later transferred to Pennsylvania where I was converted to a hydrologist (1995), upon completion of my bachelor’s degree in December of 1994. I currently serve as the PA-WSC Surface Water and Ecology Section Chief. Recent projects include Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) work to address bacteriological issues in Lake Erie on and near the beaches at Presque Isle, Erie, Pennsylvania and a statewide study with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to determine pesticide occurrence and changes in concentration in vulnerable groundwater aquifers in Pennsylvania.
