Dr. Grant received his BSc Honours from the University of Toronto with majors in Biochemistry and Chemistry and a minor in Zoology. He then received his PhD in Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto School of Medicine and the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute .After a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo he joined the Biomedical Sciences Division of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. After a Clinical Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco he moved to his present position at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been Boardcertified in Clinical Molecular Genetics since 1993. Dr. Grant studies mechanisms of genetic and epigenetic alteration in cancer and other diseases of aging.
