Prof. Dr. Sondan DurukanoÄŸlu Feyiz, received her BS degree in Physics from University of Ä°stanbul (1989), her MS degree in Physics from University of Wisconsin, Madison (1992) and her PhD in Physics from Kansas State University (1999). She worked as a graduate teaching and research assistant and as a postdoctoral research fellow at Kansas State University. She was a faculty member in Physics Department at Ä°stanbul Technical University (2000-2010). She served as a visiting scientist at Kansas State University (in various times) and as a visiting Associate Professor of Physics at M.I.T. (2007-2009). She was a senior researcher at Feza Gürsey Research Institute (2009-2010). In October 2010, she was appointed as a faculty member in Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University and she has been the Vice President of Sabancı University since June 2011.
