Sílvia Castro is the Executive Director of MIT Portugal Program - a strategic partnership between Foundation for Science and Technology between Portuguese Universities and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before she was Director of Communication and Graduates Programs for the same institution. She was interested in studying how science is portrayed in the media and on the use of web based platforms for communication and civil participation in the fields of science and innovation. She holds a PhD in Developmental Neurosciences by University College London and was a post-doc fellow in science communication Gulbenkian Institute of Science (IGC).
