Dr. Sima Hamadeh is Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences and Dietetics. Her interests lie in such areas as dietary motivations and behaviors; the communities’ dietary practices; the evolution of diets through the content analysis of written documents (e.g., magazines); the epidemiology of obesity especially among youth; health promotion and education; health and communication policies; as well as innovative qualitative approaches (e.g., content analysis, publicity). She works closely with different national ministries and organizations, and international institutions in projects, seminars, research and community programs. Besides her academic experiences, she is a peer reviewer and has several publications in international refereed journals and a book related to: the evolution of nutrition, food choice motivations, and the epidemiology of obesity in children and adolescents. In recent years she has provided many oral communications on nutrition and health in national and international congresses. Dr. Hamadeh is also a former member of several executive international Scientific Committees and Associations.
