Dr. Varghese focuses on developing new strategies using biomaterials and stem cells for tissue repair and regeneration. More specifically, we are interested in: (a) developing molecularly-engineered polymeric structures to control the fate and commitment of stem cells towards the desired tissue (b) dissecting the cell-environment (insoluble and soluble components) interactions to understand stem cell biology, disease progression, and developmental processes (c) translate these fundamental understandings towards clinical applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.Dr. Varghese focuses on developing new strategies using biomaterials and stem cells for tissue repair and regeneration.
