Dr. Ward is an investigator in the Muscle Physiology Laboratory and faculty in the Departments of Radiology, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Bioengineering. He has an interesting in multimodal imaging (X-Ray, CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound, and bioluminescence) of skeletal muscle in animal and human modelsstudies. His research interests are all related to structure-function relationships in skeletal muscle. The largest areas of research are Shoulder injuries, spine injuries, botulinum toxin, human lower extremity injuries, lumbar spine, and shoulder muscle designs, and the biology of skeletal muscle adaptation.
