Ruth Ann Mathis, is an Assistant Professor and is active in the department teaching Foundational Clinical Skills, General Medical Post-Surgical, Clinical Reasoning 1, and Orthotics and Prosthetics. Dr. Mathis received her MS and PhD from the University of Central Arkansas. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. Mathis has been a Physical Therapist for 18 years with clinical experience in a variety of settings including in-patient rehabilitation, outpatient, acute care, and pediatrics. Dr. Mathis’ research interests include exercise and diabetes, increasing function and quality of life for amputees, aging well and in place, and community dwelling older adults. Dr. Mathis also enjoys mentoring students in research projects and serves as the Assistant Director of Clinical Education.
