Biography

Roe Bubar J.D., is a Native Studies Scholar and Associate Professor jointly appointed in the Department of Ethnic Studies and School of Social Work. Roe also serves as Affiliate Faculty in Women’s Studies at Colorado State University. She teaches Indigenous courses. Her current research agenda considers intersectionality and sexual violence, health disparities, child maltreatment in tribal communities, and Native youth and STD/STI messaging. Roe has over 20 years of experience in the field and continues to work with tribes, states, federal agencies, and NGOs in tribal communities on a variety of research issues, including child sexual abuse and related projects.

Research Intrest

Roe Bubar J.D. research interest includes: Social policy, child sexual abuse in Indian country and Alaska Native communities, children's advocacy centers: multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches in child maltreatment and cultural competency.
