Richard Tremblay was appointed General Manager of NRC's Construction portfolio in August 2015. Mr. Tremblay joined NRC from the Industrial Research Centre of Quebec (CRIQ), where he was Vice-President of Operations. His previous positions at CRIQ include Director of Testing and Export Conformity Services, Director of Industrial Automation, and Vice-President of Strategic Information and Product Conformity. Prior to working at CRIQ, Mr. Tremblay worked as Chief of Customer Service at Nortel Networks, and as a project engineer at Hydro-Québec's research institute, IREQ. He began his career as a quality and production support engineer at Canadian Marconi Company. Mr. Tremblay holds a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke, and conducted research internships at Pratt & Whitney Canada. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Center for Innovation in Microelectronics of Quebec (CIMEQ), a college technology transfer centre. He is a founding member of the Regroupement des équipementiers en automatisation industrielle (REAI) of Quebec, and was a member of the Board of Directors of Manufacturers and Exporters of Quebec (MEQ).
