Biography

Dr. Ratnayake graduated with BSc Agriculture (Honours) from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and joined the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening as a Temporary Demonstrator/Assistant Lecturer. She began her career as a Lecturer in Horticultural Science at the same University. She obtained her MSc in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and later obtained her PhD in Postharvest Physiology from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2012. In her Doctoral research, she examined the plant physiological stem plugging processes in cut stems using scanning and transmission electron microscopy techniques. Currently, she is committed to teaching and collaborative research in Postharvest Horticulture.
