Biography

I initially came to Oxford Brookes as a mature undergraduate student. Graduating with a first class Bsc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics, I then completed a PhD in Mathematics, in the area of computational number theory. My thesis, entitled The Algorithmic Solution of Simultaneous Diophantine Equations, was supervised jointly by Dr. Catherine Hobbs at Oxford Brookes University and Prof. Roger Heath-Brown of the University of Oxford. Despite my research being in an area of pure mathematics, I enjoy discovering how mathematics can be used in a diverse range of application areas. I have worked at Oxford Brookes since September 2000 when I became a Lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics, and I am currently Principal Lecturer and Programme Lead for all programmes in the Mathematics subject area.
