Biography

Graduated from Utkal University with B.Sc. in Physics (Hons) in 1990, did M.Sc. (Biotechnology) from JNU in 1992 followed by Ph.D. (Immunology) from JNU in 1998. Went to USA for post-Ph.D. research at NIH, Johns Hopkins Medical School and worked as a scientist for US military Malaria Vaccine Development program at Walter Reed Army Research Institute before return to India in 2011. Passionate Researcher and Teacher having strong belief in changing the society through scientific endeavour by motivating younger generation of students. Current Research Interest: The laboratory at the instiute of science is working on generation and maintenance of memory T cells vis-a-vis vaccine development. the major focus of the research is to understand the CD 8T cell responses to plasmodia liver stage infection. The laboratory is also working on developing alternative strategy for making effective vaccines that could provide long term protection.part of the efforts of lab is also to develop chimeric biomolecules for novel adjuvant and to treat cancer through immunotherapy.
