Paul has a Bachelors honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and two Master’s degrees one in Microsystems and Nanotechnology and another in Advanced Automation and Design. For 10 years he worked as an electronic research and design engineer in the telecommunications, industrial robotics and defence industries. He returned to academia completing his PhD in 2008 developing a ferroelectric templating method for the photochemical synthesis of structured nanoparticles.
Paul's current research is in the fields of nanomaterial synthesis, from nanoparticles to nanostructured films, energy harvesting materials with particular emphasis on thermoelectrics and electronic integration into micro and nano systems.
