Olga Demetriou studied anthropology at the LSE and carried out post-doctoral research in Cambridge and Oxford. She has also worked with Amnesty International on human rights in Greece and Cyprus and is senior research consultant for the Peace Research Institute, Oslo. She has been analysing issues of citizenship, representation, and community boundaries since the late 1990s. Her monograph, Capricious Borders, published by Berghahn in 2013 explores the relation between processes of making and becoming minority in western Thrace. Other work, in international and regional journals, concerns migration, refugeehood, gender, and heritage. She has taught on all these issues in Cyprus and abroad, including at Oxford University in the UK, Princeton in the US, and the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.
