Biography

Nainendra Nand joined USP in January, 2008 as Senior Lecturer in School of Law.  He came to the Law School following a distinguished career in law, which included private practice/public law practice and consultancy work spanning over twenty eight years. He was Solicitor General of Fiji for ten years between January 1997 to December 2006. He personally handled and oversaw many high profile litigation involving Fiji Government. Nainendra has also been legal advisor to the President of Fiji, Parliament of Fiji and the Governor of Reserve Bank of Fiji. His expertise is in Constitutional Law / Administrative Law / Commercial Law / Practical Legal Training / and Civil Litigation and Practice.  He also has represented Fiji at many international and national meetings and delivered papers on a variety of topics.     Nainendra has had extensive experience as a Chief Executive Officer and Human Resource Manager. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in law from the University of North London, Masters Degree in Law from Kings College, University of London, and is a barrister of Lincoln’s Inn in London. Since joining USP he has taught undergraduate courses (LW111 and LW112) and post graduate courses (LWD02, LWD05 and LWD08).  He is also co-ordinator of PDLP and PDLD programs and Manager of School of Law at Laucala.
