Biography

"Dr. Mohamed H. Alkordi is an associate professor of chemistry at the University of Science and Technology, and the codirector of the Center for Materials Science (CMS) at Zewail City. Since he joined Zewail City, Alkordi has been involved in establishing the chemistry laboratories, the nanoscience and materials science majors curricula, and in participating in the admission exams. Alkordi graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and physics from the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida, U.S. in 2010. During the period from 2010 to 2012, Alkordi was a postdoctoral researcher at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. His scientific research interests cover a broad range of topics related to functional materials for demanding applications, self-assembly and crystal engineering, organic synthesis, and X-ray crystallography. Alkordi currently holds one patent related to the electrode separator and its use in a battery or an electrochemical cell."
